210 thousand school kids are to play table hockey with the support of the AVK Company
210 thousand school children, from 1st to 5th-graders, are to take part in an All-Ukrainian Table Hockey Championship, which will be held throughout spring and fall seasons of the current year. The All-Ukrainian Table Hockey Championship is sponsored by the “Zhuvilend” brand of the AVK confectionary company.
The Championship will be held in 250 schools throughout all regions of Ukraine. The Championship finals will take place in Kiev by the end of the year. Winners of the school and regional tournaments will be recognized with memorable, remarkable prizes, medals and certificates. Besides that, finalists will be able to participate in similar table hockey tournaments, which will take place in Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russian Federation and other countries.
The Championship will support the educators’ efforts in organizing extracurricular activities more effectively. “Promotion of the young table hockey movement contributes to the participation of school children in worthwhile and exciting activities as opposed to dubious temptations of the “street life”,” stated the Principal of the Lviv High School No.34, Roman Grynchuk.
The exciting game of table hockey can also be played by physically impaired school children, who can not practice in active sports. Table hockey is not just a thrilling game but also an activity of sportive discipline, which stimulates swift reaction, good motion coordination and extraordinary thinking.

“Zhuvilend” sweets contain nutritious added value, which labels them as a healthy product. Currently, the sweets boast to be one of the least calories-containing products in the Ukrainian market (100 grams of “Zhuvilend” contain only 0.1 grams of fats). Table hockey is played in almost all countries of the world. The game is believed to originate from Sweden where the first official game was played in 1934.
