AVK products were presented at the world’s largest confectionery exhibition ISM 2018

12 February 2018

AVK traditionally presented its products among the world’s leading confectionery brands at the ISM annual international exhibition in Germany.

The ISM exhibition is a well-known and significant event also called a “confectionery Mecca in Cologne.” People come here to meet the partners they work with and find new ones, track trends and industry tendencies.

ISM 2018 gathered the leading confectionery market players from all over the world. There were thirty companies from Ukraine among the participants, which presented their products both in the Ukrainian Village Ukrainian block and on individual stands.

AVK presented the Company with an independent and large-scale stand. Business meetings on the exhibition ground were non-stop. Over four days, more than 160 negotiations with potential customers were held. The stand was attended by business delegations from more than sixty countries of the world.

Volodymyr Avramenko, the founder of the Company, and Roman Babets, Acting General Director, personally headed the delegation and took part in the negotiations.

The Company traditionally presented a portfolio of products manufactured in Ukraine and sold already in more than sixty countries of the world. The developed products, unique to Ukraine, are also in high demand among foreign consumers. First of all, these are such sweets as Royal Charm, Royal Masterpiece, Truffle, Major, Bam-Buk, etc.

In addition, this year, it was the first time AVK brought a range of KRESKO snacks to the exhibition. According to the results of 2017, the flour and sugar categories of products showed a steady increase in the export of products from Ukraine.

Despite the fact that the exhibition is held in Europe, it is visited by many guests from the Asian-Oceania countries. There was a constant stream of Arabs, which was connected with the tendency of the Islamization of Europe. Hence, halal products are increasingly in demand, and AVK has much to offer to consumers all over the world.

During the exhibition, the details of the EUR.1 form movement certificate issue by Ukraine were discussed, in particular, concerning the countries not included in the EU. For example, for such countries as Morocco and Algeria, with the customs duty of 25%, imports from Ukraine become unprofitable. The Company is convinced that this issue should be settled at the state level, in conjunction with relevant ministries, a dialog should be held with Europe.

The main confectionary trends of ISM 2018 are shifting from chocolate goods to flour and sugar products with an emphasis on naturality, including that of ingredients. The European wave of a healthy lifestyle is gradually coming to Ukraine, which is a promising niche for the development of this segment.

We are sure that the results obtained during the exhibition will be the basis for building strong partnerships and winning new markets by the Company.
